The Stage

A City Soap Opera

A soap opera is usually a radio or television series that deals with domestic situations and is frequently characterised by melodrama and sentimentality, an important element of which is the open-ended serial nature of the narrative.

It was Shakespeare who pointed out, that all the world’s a stage.

This is a street photography version, a series of vignettes documenting some of the unfolding daily drama taking place in front of a plain old wall outside the main entrance to Bahnhof Zoo rail station, a transport hub in the heart of the former West-Berlin.

From “As You Like It” by William Shakespeare

All the world’s a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts.
